Remote Education
If there are times when it is not possible, or is contrary to government guidance, for some or all pupils to attend school, provision will be put in place for pupils to access learning at home. Any communication about remote education will be made via Parentmail.
Remote education should only ever be considered as a last resort where a decision has already been made that attendance at school is not possible, but pupils are able to continue learning.
Circumstances where it might not be possible for pupils to receive in person education fit into 2 broad categories:
-
school closures or restrictions on attendance, where school access for pupils is restricted
-
individual cases where a pupil is unable to attend school but is able to learn
We follow the guidance from the DfE in planning for this provision: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/providing-remote-education-guidance-for-schools/providing-remote-education-guidance-for-schools
If remote education provision is in place, the school day will remain as 8:45am to 3:15pm, this equates to 32.5 hours per week. The school day will consist of online virtual teaching (normally in the morning) and a range of tasks for pupils to complete via Google Classroom. Each pupil will have access to this via their school Google login.
