Year Four

WELCOME TO OUR YEAR GROUP'S VIRTUAL PAGE.

Hello Year 4

This will be our last week of online learning and we cannot wait to welcome you back to school on 8th March.  As always, here are the details of your online learning.   Next week is ‘Book Week’ and we have some exciting activities planned for you with a focus on illustrations.   Each day we will finish one of the live lessons with reading aloud of a text.   There will be two live lessons on Monday-Wednesday (with an extra one on Wednesday afternoon) and one on Thursday and Friday.  Below is a timetable for what will happen and when.  It might be slightly different for each class and if your class teacher is in school it may be led by another member of the year 4 team.  Each day there will also be a pre-recorded video for each of the subjects set for you.  The link will go live on Google Classroom at the time of your lesson, so don’t worry if you can’t see it beforehand.  Here are the times and details of the lessons.

We suggest if your lesson is later in the morning, you start your online learning with a different challenge and wait for the live lesson to complete the lesson that is being taught then.

We will continue work on our topic ‘Architects’ and our core text this half term will be ’Cool Buildings’. As always, each day we will set you English, maths and non-core activities to do at home and we have also included some spread the happiness activities to keep you busy and have some fun with.  There is a brief outline below of the activities for each day but on Google Classroom there will be a more in depth description of the activity.  Remember to find the right challenge for you; red, yellow or blue and check with us if you are unsure.

As usual, you can also ask us questions on Google Classroom each day if you need any help.  You can complete the work on the computer and upload documents or you can complete it on paper and upload a picture.  If you do not have regular access throughout the day to a device, you could complete the work on paper and leave us a comment on Google Classroom to tell us what you have been doing.  We can’t wait to see your online learning and help you when you need it.  Please do not feel the need to print the work, there is no requirement to do this.  You can look at the tasks on Google Classroom and then record the answers on a piece of paper and upload a photograph of this.  Remember you can access Google Classroom on an Xbox or a PlayStation.

We hope you have an excellent week of learning like you have so far this term.

Miss Wadsworth, Mrs Jackson, Mr Bardell, Mrs Bremeyer and Mr Galea.
